We originally started photographing primarily weddings in the early 2000's. At the time we were going by the studio name of 1000 Words Photography. During this time we photographed in excess of 400 weddings, scores of engagement sessions and corporate events.
The Great Recession hit us hard and we backed away from the photography for a bit. Citizen Storyteller is our rebranded, reimagined project. We still do weddings (very well), but now our focus is on headshots, portraits and building community within Concord.
While we still love a good wedding because they are a lot of fun and provide great photographic opportunities, our new focus is more local and community based. We hope to highlight the businesses and residents of Concord California through our storytelling style of photography. Over time you will see featured people and businesses on our blog. We want other people to know the quiet heroes that live among us. If you know someone who has a story that needs to be heard let us know and we will reach out to them see if we can make it happen.

Related to our commitment to community we are giving 10% of our profit to local charities and organizations in Concord. The City of Concord is a special and vibrant place to live. There are lots of outdoor activities, restaurants, attractions and we want to see if we can help maybe make it a little better.

We will also be providing free portrait days at local assisted living facilities. We'll try to get to know our subjects a little bit and hope to translate that into a great representation of some of our most cherished resources.....our elderly.

Citizen Storyteller is not your basic photography studio....we are trying to add to our community while providing a decent living for ourselves. Consider us for your next project.
